About
Welcome to He-Brews Coffee, an enchanting sanctuary nestled in Lubbock, Texas, where coffee lovers can indulge in a delightful experience that transcends the ordinary. Located at 2709 Marshall St, He-Brews Coffee is not just a coffee shop; it’s a hidden gem that merges quality brews with breathtaking scenery.
Stepping into He-Brews, you're greeted by an ambiance that invites both interaction and solitude. While some longtime patrons, like Leah G., reminisce about the cozy couches of yesteryears, many commend the current setup, perfect for studying or savoring a moment of reflection. The transition to hard tables may signal a shift, but it has created a focused atmosphere that encourages productivity amidst the aromatic whispers of freshly brewed coffee.
The menu showcases a variety of coffee options, including standout choices like the Dulce de Leche Breve. Regulars appreciate the rich flavors, though personal preferences vary on temperature—always something to consider in the realm of caffeine! For those seeking a quick snack, He-Brews offers tempting pastries that pair wonderfully with their robust beverages.
But what truly sets He-Brews apart is its scenic outdoor covered patio, as passionately highlighted by Blake Collins. This outdoor space, overlooking a serene body of water, allows you to unwind while soaking in the beauty of nature. Kayak rentals offer the perfect opportunity to extend your stay, making this spot an excellent choice for families or solo adventurers alike.
Patrons like Hannah R. revel in the vibrant atmosphere where coffee and nature converge, making it a favorite study haven. The sight of prairie dogs, waterfowl, and even burrowing owls adds a unique charm that elevates your coffee-drinking experience. Each sip is complemented by the delightful scenery, creating a connection between the palate and the picturesque surroundings.
As Kenny B. enthusiastically noted, every visit promises not just exceptional coffee but also memorable interactions. The friendly staff at He-Brews contribute to the welcoming environment, ensuring each cup is crafted with care and creativity. Suggestions like combining vanilla and raspberry with green tea could lead to new menu sensations, demonstrating the communal spirit that defines He-Brews.
Though the bathroom conditions have garnered some critique, as stated by Krista Van Laren, it does little to overshadow the overall charm and joy of visiting this quaint coffee shop. With a desire for improvement evident, the focus remains on what really matters: great company, superb coffee, and stunning views.
So, whether you're looking to fuel your studies, enjoy a leisurely afternoon by the water, or simply traverse the inviting atmosphere, He-Brews Coffee is ready to welcome you with open arms and a steaming cup of your favorite brew. Come experience the magic of coffee across the water—it's a beautiful ride waiting to be sipped!
“ I’ve been coming to He-Brews for a few years now. Got a Dulce de Leche Breve, extra hot. Service was great. Miss the days when they had couches and a more relaxed atmosphere here. Now, it’s all hard tables and chairs. Not much room to wait for your coffee inside. It’s more of a study atmosphere than it used to be. Just miss the couches. Also, wish the extra hot would have been made hotter but that’s a personal preference I have at just about every coffee shop. Will come here again. It’s great to grab a coffee and take a walk around the lake. ”
“ **Hidden GEM Alert** This place is amazing!! First off, the coffee is great! Not too expensive at all. They have a few snacks like muffins and whatnot and they're delicious. But the best part is there is an epic covered patio outside over looking the water! Beautiful scenery outside for sure. You can even rent kayaks! Definitely a spot you need to check out and bring the family if you'd like. It's also a great spot to just go and relax by yourself, as that area of Lubbock is not used as much, which makes it perfect! ”
“ Favorite place to study in Lubbock. Delicious coffee, friendly environment, beautiful view overlooking a pond with lots of prairie dogs, waterfowl, and some burrowing owls. ”
“ What an absolute hidden gem of a place. Not at all where I expected it to be. The environment is very unique, and they've done a great job turning it into something very unique and worthy of a peek. Coffee was excellent. The ladies working were simply incredible.....and, the suggestion of both vanilla and raspberry with the green tea was off the charts!!! *To the owners et el. Give the above a try. Might be a great menu item. Next time we are near Lubbock, we will go out of our way to come back. Thanks for everything He-Brews ”
“ The bear chicken salad sandwich and refreshing lemonade! Very simple setup on the water. Only downside is the grungy bathroom. Needs a deep clean. And please get rid of the hand blower and get paper towels. ”
“ What a beautiful place :) the prairie dogs were fun to watch, and the atmosphere of peace and love made my bad day a really good one. ”
“ I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The iced latte was good, and the service was great as well! The vibes were not too stressful or casual. It was just awesome for studying! It had some private seats and so you won’t get too overwhelmed by the crowd. Being a Christian made me love this place even more!! Songs were usually worship songs, and some people here were reading Bible. Scenery was amazing. It’s right next to a lake so you could take a break from your work by sitting outside and feeling the nature! (One thing to remember is that it can get super crowded and loud sometimes!) Overall my fav in Lubbock so far! RECOMMEND!!! ”
“ The best coffee shop I’ve been to in Lubbock. I am a big fan of matcha and most coffee shops don’t make it right. Hebrews has the BEST matcha I’ve ever tried at a coffee shop. I recommend the Flower Garden (matcha with lavender)— it’s AMAZING. The employees are very welcoming and genuine, and it’s also a great place to hangout and study. The only downside is the area gets really muddy when it rains or snows. ”
